Birthing Glam Like A Mother

I’m pretty honest, sometimes I forget my filter, so let’s chat about the reality, moms!

I don’t know about you but since I became a mother, I realized many things. I realized how humbling it is to be a mom, how challenging and rewarding it can be at the same time. I realized how much I LOVE my kids and how having a amazing partner like my husband is absolutely essential. I also realized how little time I have to get ready in the mornings!

But here’s the deal, I am professional hair and makeup artist and a stylist. As the founder of Julie Page Makeup, I have had the honor of working with hundreds of brides, celebrities, politicos and I have styled multi-millionaires. But one thing that really stuck with me were all the moms who seemed so frustrated by their beauty and style.

The overwhelming comment I got from fellow mamas was “I have no time for myself and honestly, I don’t know where to start!”

And believe me…I get it! My coffee is constantly cold when I pick it up for that second sip. Half the time, my laundry and mail piles tower over me and there are many times when I’m covered in crumbs from eating in the car between drop-offs and pick-ups. Forget hair and makeup…did I shower this morning?

For a while, I thought it was just me. But after hearing from hundreds of moms, the theme was always the same. We want to get ourselves back, but let’s face it, as moms, it’s a new self!

Our bodies have changed, our priorities have changed, and morning routine…what’s that?! I don’t know about you, but in addition to my double c-section belly bulge, I’ve got a few more fine lines and grays these days. And unlike ten years ago when I wouldn’t be caught dead in flats, my days in stilettos are now a distant memory.

But all that aside, I absolutely cherish my kids and husband, they are my world. Despite the craziest of days, I know how lucky I am and I find joy in the calamities. Plus, I’m a problem solver and beauty educator, so combining my life as a mom with beauty and style just feels right.

We usually have about 5-10 minutes to get ready and that’s on a REALLY good day!

As moms, we have a new reality and some days, it’s a mother…! But when you take a little time to LOOK good,  you FEEL good and I’m on mission to empower you to do just that.

So thank you for visiting and cheers mamas, get ready to Glam Like A Mother!

XOXO, Julie
